Re: ACF

OK, this will be the last time I post about
this.

First, I apologize myself to Roger for resorting to
name-calling. That was foolish on my own part. Further, I am
sure he will do a fine job editing questions for ACF
Nationals, which I am sure is not the most fun in the world
to do.

That said, no matter what Roger says
to the contrary, since ACF lacks an official
hierarchy, the editor of ACF Nationals is one of the most
important roles in the organization. Like it or not, Roger,
you became a spokesperson for ACF when you attached
your ACF title to the signature of your first reply.
IMHO no person should ever call someone's comments
"retarded," much less a representative from a quizbowl
organization. It simultaneously insults both mentally disabled
people (I have a cousin who is), and the person who made
the comment.

I doubt you have ever heard R.
Hentzel, Eric Hillemann, Mary Oberempt, James Dinan, or
anyone else in a position like that make such a comment.
I actually am all for ACF, and want to see it
thrive, but I think "official" responses which do little
but insult customers damage the organization and
further the old stereotypes.

I would like to see
the ACF Fall questions if someone could send them to
me. I based the "Straight Outta Benet's" comment on
the questions I heard at the Terrapin ACF tournament
the week before. So if I was wrong, I will gladly
admit it.

As for the quality of my questions, no
one has complained to me before about them. At the
risk of sounding egocentric (which I have been at
times), I have won four separate awards for submitting
the best packet of a tournament, so not everyone
agrees with you.

That's all for this thread; good
luck to everyone at TRASH Regionals this
weekend.
