The only problem with this is that when the bonus
goes over everyone's heads, people just tune it out.
As others have said before, the best way to "expand
the canon" is not by ramming obscurata down people's
throats, but bv relating it to things they
might/should/actually do know.
As a simple example, I've written
a bonus where one part deals with a work of music
that has never been mentioned in any QB packet I've
run across (in fact, the only time I've even heard
the *composer* of that piece mentioned was when I
mentioned him in a Q I once wrote). However, rather than
have players identify the work--which would be damn
near impossible--the question asks for a piece of info
which should certainly be familiar to a good team. And,
with some luck, maybe other people will start writing
about him.
