As someone who grew up playing every sport
imaginable, I always get really frustrated when the "let's
play so we can all feel good" attitude prevails over
"let's compete at a high level in order to raise the
overall quality of the game". If there are enough of
those "oh, it doesn't matter who was *first*" coaches,
maybe they can have a non-buzzer lockout tournament. I
don't think that belongs at a nationals-prep tournament
like Duke's, and similarly, I don't think that's a
good reason to include a worksheet round.
