Who Are/Were the Best Players?

In the interests of sparking a discussion, I
would like to pose a question to those who
care:

Who do you think the best players of all time
were?

I would be interested in seeing lists in terms of
overall impression, maybe by format, and maybe by
category as well (science, history, etc.)

To start
off, I'll define what I think makes the best players
the best and give an overall list based on those I've
seen and those I've played against.

I think the
truly great ones had incredible breadth and depth of
knowledge as well. They might not always put up the biggest
numbers due to shadow effect, but they are capable of
let's say having 12-13 TU rounds and singlehandedly
making their team an upper echelon team (one that
challenges for the title) not a mediocre one.

Top 10
I've seen:
1. Andrew Yaphe
2. Tom Waters
3.
Jeff Johnson
4. John Sheahan
5. David
Hamilton
6. Subash Maddipotti
7. R. Hentzel
8. Eric
Bell
9. Elliot Brenner
10. Arthur Fleming

Look
forward to seeing your lists,
Anon.
