Sectionals must have separate play if there are
four or more teams registered in each division. If
not, and the divisions are combined into one field, a
Division II team could win the overall title. Should that
occur, they claim all three titles, and we would offer
them their choice as to which division to play in at
the ICT. Should a Division II team in a combined
field win the undergraduate title, but not the overall
title, they would then win two of the three available
titles, and would also have their choice of divisions for
the ICT.
Technically, the top Div. II team at
last year's NW Sectional was that tournament's
undergraduate champion as well, even if it didn't occur to us
at the time to list them as such.
