I did realize, part of the way through SCT's,
that there seemed to be no economics at all. It hit me
as a very nice realization. To me, every economics
question sounds the same; I learn nothing from any of
them; I will never buzz in on any of them; I never see
anyone buzz in on any of them, except Matt, who's always
wrong; they contain no amusing references or
little-known but interesting facts; and it's a useless science
anyway. (don't respond to that last part! it's not
related to the issue!) And I actually took an economics
course last year.
I felt the same way about all
the Japanese history questions at Penn Bowl, but they
did have the sultry allure of the
exotic.
Probably some people respond the same way to my pet
subject of linguistics.
