I think we should definitely be careful about
limiting who is eligible for D2. I know that in my case, I
didn't do NAQT until I was a senior in college. I had no
high school quizbowl experience and had basically
played in one CBI tourney. The same applied to everyone
else on my team. If some other rule had been in place,
potentially known of us would have been eligible, and that
would have been one less school doing quizbowl. D2 is
great for not only freshmen, but upperclassmen who
essentially novices who need a starting point as well.
