Re: Foolish Posts

"I may not speak for all, but some people on the
board post some of the most off-topic things
imagineable. Do I really care about Fantasy Baseball? This is
a club about Quiz Bowl, not about how well Jason
Giambi will play this year."

As someone who has
both posted announcements for fantasy leagues and
joined leagues as a result of postings here, I have to
disagree. Certainly if discussion went off on a tangent
you'd have a valid complaint. However, one message is
hardly worth getting bent out of shape over. Many people
here consider members of the QB community to be their
friends. Friends want friends to play in their leagues. Is
that so wrong?

"I have Yahoo! Quiz Bowl Message
posts sent to my eemail address. Unnecessary posts like
"thank you" and "what team do you think will do well
this year" are pointless."

Again, sometimes
tournament directors and the like have many people to thank
for their hard work and want to do so publicly. I
have no problem with someone posting those kinds of
thanks.

Why you would think a discussion on what teams will
do well is pointless is beyond
me.
