Re: NAQT 2002 ICT Division I finals & tiebreak scores

I should note here that this game had *no* significance.

Georgia and GW had equal records coming out of the round-robin (4-7)
and GW had just won head-to-head. This made GW and Georgia 9th and
10th (in some order), putting them both in the 5th flight.

All this particular playoff game did was determine the order in which
Georgia and GW faced the other 5th-flight teams. However, since we
both saw the same teams in different orders, and all packets are
theoretically equal, winning this game was neither more or less
desirable (in and of itself) than losing the game.

In other words, the decision could have just as well been made with a
coin flip. Furthermore, this was the case going into that round.

In other words, we had to sit around and play a game that had no
meaning for half an hour while other teams went to lunch.

And we were hungry.
