Re: Buzzerfest: results and thanks.

I want to thank Jeff, Lenny, and the rest of the Princeton crew for
putting together a good tourney today. I had fun playing teams from
the Midwest I had not played in a while, and the tournament ran
smoothly. It was unfortunate more teams were not able to show up...
this was my fourth Princeton tourney over the years, and it has
always been high quality. I'll be happy to return for a fifth go-
round next year.

Three teams impressed me today: Carleton, Chicago, and Rutgers A.
Carleton was the best all-around team, and picked up a well-deserved
win; congratulations! Chicago had the Jeff Bennett voodoo working
today -- he missed the first half of our first game, where we took a
175-70 lead, then when he showed up they outscored us 210-0 in the
second half :-P Lastly, Rutgers A played us two tough ones today.
We split, but they played well enough to take both. In case anyone
may not know, Dave Hayes is very very good -- but he had quite solid
support today as well. Should Dave play grad school, any team will
be quite fortunate to have him -- and with their 20th at NAQT and
13th at ACF Nats, Rutgers should show up in everyone's top 25 this
time around.

Questions varied, but were mostly decent -- the only two things I
could question were in the Moon Pie packets. Difficulty ranged from
high school to ACF Nationals Kentucky style, for which I don't really
blame anyone, as the teams have divergent experience levels. But
there were also a fairly high number of repeats, several in back-to-
back packets (well, at least now I know several works by Truffaut ;-))

Anyway, congrats to all the teams that did well in the 2001-02
season. Good luck to those graduating, and see you either in the
summer or next year!
