-I was introduced to quizbowl in the eighth grade when my team at Dawkins Middle School won Dorman's middle-school event. The next year I joined Dorman as a member of the Freshman Campus' team. I quickly worked my way to JV A. I won a few JV tournaments here and there with that team, usually just placing low at varsity tournaments. The next year, Chase and myself having been chosen to remain on JV rather than move on to varsity, we formed the nucleus of the next year's B team (Lane joined the team), going on to dominate the JV circuit in SC and Georgia for the year. We went to HSNCT that year as Dorman B, along with a few of the older players, where, due to the chaos of our substitution strategy, we failed to make it to playoffs. The next year Chase, Lane and I formed Dorman B, with our fourth player up for grabs. We were highly competitive with our A team, but only beat them at the Wildcat Tournament at Northwestern. That year we went 7-3 in the prelims at HSNCT, then had a terrible 1-2 Sunday (losing to Etowah and Marist, two teams we had thoroughly trounced regularly that season). Now I am on the Dorman A team with Chase Fleming, Tabitha Walker, and Lane Yates. I intend to play in college as well, unlike my colleagues (to my knowledge). I specialize in History, Religion, Current Events and Sports. I'm also mildly ok at Geo and Literature. I will graduate high school in 2014.
