Format is a term with multiple meanings in quizbowl discussion, including but not necessarily limited to the following:
- Game format in a broad sense, e.g. tossup-bonus format or four-quarter format
- Gameplay rules, e.g. ACF rules or NAQT rules (each of which are for tossup-bonus format)
- Tournament structure, e.g. "pooled round robin followed by a rebracket" or "power-matched"
- (rarely) the typographical formatting of text in a quizbowl packet or other quizbowl-related documents
