Qwiz is a company founded in 2018 that aims to help middle and high school students improve in quizbowl. Qwiz was formed by Eric Huff and Josh Rutsky, who were soon joined by Noah Prince. The company was bought by David Reinstein in 2025.
Qwiz Camp is a one-week summer program, and Qwiz Academy is a series of online courses that take place during the school year.
Camps
Qwiz ran its first camps in the summer of 2019 at Ohio Dominican University, Washington College (MD), Bradley University, and Indian Springs School (AL). Recent camps have been at Jacksonville State Universty in Jacksonville, Alabama and Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. The camps last for seven days and include subject-specific classes, buzzer practices, and both individual and team competition events. Most students go for a full session and stay on campus, but there is an option to attend for only four days or commute. There are typically about 60 students at each camp session.
Qwiz Academy
In fall 2021, Qwiz launched Qwiz Academy, which offers subject-specific lessons during the school year. Each course meets for four sessions over Zoom, and students additionally get sent materials to help them continue to learn the subject matter. The first courses offered were Ancient History and Physics Essentials. Qwiz Academy now has curricula for 20 different courses, about half of which get taught each year.
Qwiz5
Qwiz has also released a series of study pages called Qwiz5 which are still on its old website.
National Quizbowl Conference
Qwiz has hosted a National Quizbowl Conference in 2021. Speakers at the 2021 edition included Chris Chiego and Fred Morlan.
