• Before it was trimmed, Charles formerly had the longest page by far of any individual on the Wiki. At 23,368 bytes, it was in the top 50 longest pages and was 88% as long as the page for eight-time national champion Thomas Jefferson (VA) at the same time.
• Charles's propensity for asking to take photos of other teams and posting them on Facebook has led the practice of being tagged in those photos to be dubbed "being Hang'd." This may have led directly to various people in Illinois receiving settlement money from Meta after the resolution of privacy-related class action lawsuits starting in 2021.
• Charles's team at 2023 Chicago Open "Hang et al., Robert Browning" won the vote for "best open team name" held by Ethan Ashbrook in 2025.
• As of 2025–2026, Charles has been an active, eligible collegiate quizbowl player continuously since 2009–2010. This makes his collegiate quizbowl career old enough to drive and too old to play middle school quizbowl.
