The 2006 Ocean Lakes Scholastic Bowl team consisted of senior and captain Raymond Lee, junior Kunle Demuren, junior Chris L., and sophomore Peter McDonald. Alternates were Kathryn Tipton and Jerry K. The team was coached by Regina Barrett.

HSNCT

At the 2006 HSNCT, Ocean Lakes went 5-5, placing 60th out of 128 teams.

Battle of the Brains

The Ocean Lakes team won the Battle of the Brains Southeastern District TV show, receiving a $4,000 scholarship courtesy of the Virginia lottery. Kunle Demuren was declared a Virginia All-Star and received a $100 cash prize for winning the All-Star challenge.

VHSL Scholastic Bowl

The Ocean Lakes team came in second to Thomas Jefferson at the 2006 VHSL State Championship.

NAQT Virginia State Championship

At the NAQT Virginia State Championship, the Ocean Lakes team placed 9th out of 21 teams with a 9-2 record.
