Alex Roider was a member of the University of Kentucky Quiz Bowl Team. He was a Political Science major from Columbia, Illinois. He played Quiz Bowl at Columbia High School with Kevin Hawickhorst. He occasionally goes by the pseudonym Octavian Smith.
A very eccentric individual, he is nonetheless a loyal and helpful teammate, attempting to change the oil during the 2017 UK Travel Incident.
Before 2017 ACF Fall, he made the unwise decision to pull an all-nighter with Logan Showalter to write a paper. It caused the both of them to miss round 1 of the tournament.
