Chris Lenius is a member of the Minnesota Quiz Bowl Alliance board of directors and former Chaska player and coach. Lenius won numerous Minnesota Knowledge Bowl state titles during his playing career. Later he graduated with a BA in chemistry from St. Olaf, where he also played on the quizbowl team. Lenius received his masters in Gifted Education from Minnesota State - Mankato, but it is unknown if he played quizbowl there. He took over the Chaska program in the early 2000s and led it to local and national prominence. In 2009 he took up a position as the gifted coordinator for the Eastern Carver County school district, which includes Chaska and Chanhassen, and he has also served on the MQBA board since then. Lenius returned to coaching the Chaska team in the mid-2010s, but retired from coaching in 2018 to spend more time with his family. He was succeeded by current Chaska coach Tucker Besel.
