In a quirky move, despite continuously having a quizbowl team since the 1980s, Duke has not attended either NAQT Sectionals or ACF Regionals, the two most basic tournaments in collegiate quizbowl, since at least 2001.

Duke was the Undergraduate and Division II champion at 2015 ACF Regionals. In 2015, Duke also attended their first NAQT ICT since 2001.

Duke University's team was revived in the 2014-2015 academic year. Last year, Duke attended both Mid-Atlantic ACF Regionals and Mid-Atlantic SCT for the first time since 2009-2010. Duke was the Undergraduate and Division II champion at 2015 ACF Regionals. In 2015, Duke also attended their first NAQT ICT since 2001.
