The Forbidden Zone or FZ is a subforum of the forums found in the Archives section. Because there is no way to delete posts from the forums, all posts which would ordinarily be deleted are instead sent to the Forbidden Zone, or FZ'ed. Though extraneous posts like double-posts and off-topic comments can also be found there, the fact that rule-breaking posts are sent there means that many controversial incidents of quiz bowl history reside in the Forbidden Zone.
It is named for the region of the same name from The Planet of the Apes. The subforum's subtitle ("You blew it up!") and its moderator "Doctor Zaius" are also references to the film.
