Strong high school teams sometimes compete in collegiate tournaments for extra challenge and practice. Sometimes a high school team will actually win a collegiate tournament. Known instances of this happening include the 1994 Thomas Jefferson team at Georgetown's tournament, the 2000 State College team at Penn State's tournament, the 2007 Maggie Walker team at VCU's tournament, and the 2008 MLK team at the Southeast ACF Regionals.
