List of current good quizbowl status of all North American states, provinces, and territories

This page is intended to provide a brief overview of how the good quizbowl project is progressing in every state, provincial, or territorial-level division of the United States and Canada.

  • Alabama- many good tournaments every year
  • Alaska- no known general quizbowl tournaments have ever been held. Some NHBB events in the past.
  • Alberta- one NAQT tournament per year at University of Alberta since 2011
  • American Samoa-
  • Arizona- many good tournaments every year
  • Arkansas- many good tournaments every year
  • British Columbia- no known high school events have ever been held except Reach for the Top. There used to be college teams at Simon Fraser and UBC but they did not host high school events. Interested high school teams could get to tournaments at the University of Washington fairly easily.
  • California- many good quizbowl tournaments every year
  • Colorado- Knowledge Bowl circuit. Some NHBB activity. No good general quizbowl tournaments have ever been held.
  • Connecticut- longstanding tournaments at Yale, expanding interest in hosting good tournaments by high schools in recent years.
