The Aiming for the Stars African American Male Academic Bowl is a tournament for 4th-8th grade African American males. Its game format is similar to Jeopardy. Despite being billeted as "academic", a question seen in the promotional video asked about the inventor of the pencil sharpener, which raises questions about this claim. University of Texas-Dallas will be hosting the fifth annual tournament in January 2014.
