Carmel Catholic High School is a private Roman Catholic high school located in Mundelein, Illinois. The school is jointly sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Order of the Carmelites. It currently competes as a member of the North Metropolitan Scholastic Bowl League (NMSBL). It also competes in Class AA, the "large school" division, of the Illinois High School Association's (IHSA) State Championship Series.
Competing in an exceptionally difficult Sectional that includes perennial powerhouse teams such as Fremd, Stevenson and Libertyville, Carmel has nonetheless managed to finish second in their Sectional Touranment in 2006 and 2007; essentially being a part of the State Class AA "Sweet 16". The team was active and hosted an annual Frosh/Soph Tournament when it was led by Brian Mellon, who moved to Seoul in 2013.
