Champaign Central High School, known to locals simply as "Central" , is the older of the two public high schools of Champaign, Illinois. The team has been active since the early 2010s and is a regular competitor at tournaments in East-Central Illinois, such as IHSSBCA Novice, Kickoff, Turnabout, and the annual NAQT Illinois State Championship. Until recent years, Central had largely been in the shadow of its sister school and crosstown rival Centennial, as well as other strong local teams such as University of Illinois Lab and Mahomet-Seymour.

Since the 2022-23 season, the rivalry between Central and Centennial has become much more competitive. In 2023, Central advanced past the IHSA Regionals for the first time in school history by defeating Centennial in the regional championship game. They would repeat their regional championship title in 2024, where a team led by captains Emily Miller and Jack Larson again defeated Centennial in a hard-fought finals match.

Notable Team Accomplishments

  • IHSA Regional titles: 2024-2A, 2023-2A
  • Masonic Sectional titles: 2024-3A
