The Conserve School is a private environmental studies semester school. The school fielded a quizbowl team from its founding in 2002 until 2009 the it become a non-degree granting semester institution. Under its founding coach, Phil Blessman, Conserve won Wisconsin State Championships in 2003 and 2004, and hosted several tournaments during these two seasons, drawing teams from as far as Milwaukee (Rufus King) and the Chicago suburbs (Maine South). Conserve was also able to win two major Illinois Frosh/Soph tournaments in 2004. The Steelers also attended NAQT HSNCT in 2003 and 2004. At the 2004 HSNCT the Steelers had the curious honor of being the 5-5 team with the highest PP20TUH average. From 2004-2009, Conserve was coached by Paul McLeod.
