Gananoque Secondary School is a public school in Gananoque, Ontario consisting of approximately 525 students. In 2008, they became the second Canadian team to ever qualify for the High School National Championship Tournament, when they finished second to Lisgar in the finals of the 2007 Ottawa Quizbowl Tournament.

At the OQT, the team has finished higher each year than the previous year, finishing 4th in 2005, 3rd in 2006 and 2nd in 2007. In 2007, when the OQT field grew to seven teams, Gananoque qualified for the 2008 HSNCT in Chicago.

Reach for the Top

Gananoque participated in the 2007 Lisgar Open, finishing in 4th place and getting their first win ever over the host team Lisgar, winning a round robin game by a score of 250-220. The Lisgar team, missing its captain, later defeated Gananoque in the 3rd place game, 420-180.
