Martin Whitman played quizbowl for Iowa in 2008 and 2009. Whitman was part of Iowa's 3rd place team in the DII Midwest SCT. Whitman went to the 2008 ICT with Iowa's DII team, which placed 12th. He also played at the 2009 DI Midwest SCT, where Iowa placed fourth.
