Super Seven

In the double-elimination format currently used by NAQT for the HSNCT and MSNCT, the last teams standing after the winners' bracket final are designated in tournament promotional material as the "Super Seven." This will always include one team that is undefeated in the playoffs, the team that lost to that team in the last game of the winners' bracket, and five other one-loss teams.

This is also sometimes used for the SSNCT, especially the Traditional Public Schools Division. The Open Division sometimes has a smaller playoff bracket that uses a Super Six, which is the same idea except there is one fewer team left in the elimination bracket at this point.

In recent years at the HSNCT, the Sunday evening dinner break occurs at the point when the Super Seven teams are known. At the SSNCT and MSNCT, the Sunday lunch break often occurs at the corresponding point, though this can vary.
