Regarding very current current events, at the
R-MC high school tournament in 1997, I wrote maybe 5
TU/5 boni (and an entire category round of 10
questions) based off of the newspapers from Friday, 15
January 1997. I printed out 25 copies of the questions as
an appendix and had the regular packets referring to
the appendix for those questions.
One of the
boni was naming who were the four division leaders in
the NBA at that time. I think other irrelevantia was
included there.
Another (possibly) innovative idea
at the R-MC Commonwealth Academic Tournament was the
use of live music questions. I have heard rumours of
that being done again, though.
