The MickMan uses this argument: To borrow from sports inaccurately, the NCAA system allows a 7-21 George Mason squad to win the national title. The College Football system does not allow a 3-8 Rice squad to win the National Title. Yes, but the NCAA system allows all 300+ teams to be alive for all the games, while the College Football system keeps 12-0 Marshall from even getting a prayer at a championship from the opening kickoff. In fact, I would see no problem with an all-in playoff system. Make EVERY GAME COUNT! Allow each team 1 extra game and in the process, generate excitement all the way through Saturday night. But I'm not too serious about that. Chris Rooney's heart can start beating again. :) I do, however, wish to tell the teams who lost early on... SHUT UP ALREADY!! You say the best teams lost in the first round of the tournament. Well, if they're "the best teams", why did they lose? Duh. And if they say "because the packet sucked" or "because the moderator was bad" or "because boni didn't break our way"... well, they can be bitter about it, but guess what, crap happens. In the end, remember that IT'S ONE GAME and no one really cares. Will putting down "Penn Bowl 2000 Champions" on your resume mean anything to anybody? Likely not. So in the end, if the single-elim is so odious that it makes getting 14 games over two days and meeting people who were previously only an email address just not worth it, then take your clocks and buzzers and stay at home. I'll be in Philly, enjoying myself. Andy Goss (speaking only as Andy Goss)
