I suppose I ought to defend it as a decent enough
packet.

To claim that it was different from the RR is to
claim that that the RR packets were relatively
homogenous. It was clearly not the most difficult packet of
the tournament, it was clearly not the easiest. My
impression was that the packet was from a techincal
standpoint legitimate. There were no hoses. I suspect that
the distribution was adhered to, but that question
ordering, done by the editors, may have played a factor in
the perception. I think that the subject matter,
while still fitting into the distribution, skewed
against "hardcore" ACF-ish tendencies. For example, some
people might not feel that a children's book, such as
Cormier's The Chocolate War should count against the
literature quota.
