QOTC XII Update

Hi all-

As of now, the following teams are considered officially registered
for QOTC XII on March 20:

Maryland (at least 1)
Bryn Mawr
Peter Austin
Delaware

In addition, I have had vaguer expressions of interest from VCU and
Princeton; if these teams show up, we wil have a strong field
indeed. We may play a house team if a)there is interest or b) it
becomes necessary. The field is still pretty small, so I'm hoping
more teams register soon; we'd like to at the very least reach the 8-
team threshold, and getting to 11 would be great.

Since I have yet to recieve a packet from any of the attending teams
(a rather disturbing, if unsuprising, development, given this year's
ACF Regionals), I am extending the no-penalty deadline until Sunday
night, and I will extend the no-penalty deadline for any team that
has yet to officially register until February 29. Since we will be
conducting a packet swap with UCLA's March 6th Aztlan Cup, we would
appreciate that attending teams try to send me their packets before
the end of the month so that we have a reasonable amount of edited
material to offer UCLA.

Packet details can be found at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/quizbowl/message/13598 . Note that
when I meant "ACF-Regionals level" difficulty, I was referring to
2003's regionals, which by general consent were somewhat easier than
this year's.

I hope to see many of you at Swarthmore come March!
