Re: QB Mailing List Temporarily Down

3) One more argument raised... if the perception
that I have that there might be an apparent conflict
of interest doesn't matter and R goes ahead and sets
up a mailing listserver at naqt.com, then that's
also distressing. I know whatever Rob does would be
done independently of NAQT, and yes, it would be
convenient. However, in many areas of ethics -- business
ethics or medical ethics or academic ethics -- sometimes
the most convenient choice isn't always the most
appropriate choice.

It would worry me if my own
concerns don't play a factor. After all, the fact that R's
going to put the mailing list on the NAQT server would
have to come with acceptance by the NAQT brass, of
which he is the president. I just raise my own
concerns, and if they don't matter to R, then since this
decision would have to be done with NAQT's approval, my
opinion therefore shouldn't matter to NAQT. I suppose as
long as I'm in the minority, my opinions shouldn't
count to them, even if these are what I consider
questions that they ought to consider.
