Re: A Great Time to be a SocStu Teacher!

at least a few kids who weren't interested before
got caught up in Nader v Bush v Gore and the
electoral college fight - and because they did, the US and
the world will be a little better as a result.

I am a freshman in college right now, and I agree
100%. It is impossible to walk down the hallway without
hearing either the name "Gore" or "Bush". Not only that,
but the social implications of this election are
interesting as well! I have met about 20 people from sitting
around a TV and discussing the election! Five days ago,
most people I know really weren't that interested, but
now everyone to whom I speak is either a die-hard
Gore or Bush supporter! I must admit, over the summer
this election bored me out of my mind too! I went from
a hard-core political junkie during the primaries,
to almost not getting an absentee ballot! But this
election sucked me right back in! Being a Gore voter in
PA, I'm glad I did get that absentee ballot after
all! Oh, btw, so that's how you spell "Hooah"! I
always tried to put a 'w' in there, and it never looked
right!
