ACU-I v. CBI (was Re: CBI Reg 15...)

It's very easy to
get confused about what College Bowl Company, Inc. is
responsible for, and what the Association of College
Unions-International is responsible for.

Comments about
question quality and basic format should go to CBCI.
Comments about tournament format, officials recruiting,
eligibility rules, and the institutional rep. rule should be
directed towards ACU-I.

The ACU-I College Bowl Team
(formerly called the ACU-I College Bowl Committee) will be
meeting in a month. A great many issues are already on
the preliminary agenda. If players have concerns
about anything, they should communicate these to their
Regional Coordinator, or Frank Gencur (College Bowl Team
leader), soon. The complete list of ACU-I Regional
Coordinators and College Bowl Team members can be found in
several places on the College Bowl web site,
www.collegebowl.com .

Anthony also said:

"They feel
very proud about what they do, and the worst way to
approach them about possible changes is to sound like an
egotistical jackass talking down to children, while acting
like a zealot for the one true quizbowl. From what I
gather, people have done this on occasion, causing bad
relations."

Indeed. While adult conversation, challenging discussion,
and the healthy rhetoric of debate are appreciated,
flames and rants are generally ignored or
discounted.
