LSU has another major asset for getting a serious
program started. Toni Van Winkle (who posted the original
question) comes to LSU as a grad student after four years
as President of UTC's organization and captain of
its team. In those 4 years she served as assistant TD
or otherwise helped run some 30 tournaments. Much as
I did when I showed up as coach at UTC, Toni can
flash some serious credentials on paper to give the
program credibility from day one. Often that's what it
takes to get the school to open the ol' wallet.
