I recall the Alan Alda character in Woody Allen's
Crimes and Misdemeanors - humor is tragedy plus
distance. Thus, we can joke about Lincoln being
shot.
Calling the rest of your countrymen morons for responding
bravely to a national crisis = not funny. I realize you
think you're smarter than everyone else, but keep it on
the down low for, oh, about five years (at least),
and confine the sarcasm to something other than
bashing your fellow countrymen. I wonder if you would
have the same guts you have posting here if you knew
someone who also posted here lost a loved one in this
monstrous attack.
