Just a note:
the word "mir" has two different meanings in Russian
that were originally distinguished in writing by a
silent mark. The first meaning is "peace" and the second
meaning is "world." Tolstoy originally intended for the
title to be, "War and the World," so there's another
case of a situation where the incorrectness of a
translation might penalize a player who has knowledge of the
work.
