Re: Eligibility of players for NAQT ICT

Peter asks:

'In message 8555 of this
board, Eric Hillemann of NAQT writes that "schools'
invitations to the ICT in either division have never been
dependent upon their attending with the same players." Is
this freedom constrained by anything other than the
general eligibility rules at

<a href=http://www.naqt.com/collegiate-eligibility.html target=new>http://www.naqt.com/collegiate-eligibility.html</a>
?'

The answer is, "No." Schools may send any set of
eligible players to the ICT, regardless of whether they
competed at the SCT--even if they competed in the other
Division.

For instance, if players A, B, C, D play for a school
and win a Division I at an SCT, the school can send
A, E (who played for a Division I team that didn't
qualify), F (who played for a team in Division II), and G
(who didn't play at all).

However, regardless
of who attends the ICT, A, B, C, and D will lose
their Division II eligibility for future years (as will
E, F, and G, in this example).
