Re: Chicago Science Masters 7/27

In the Chicago Science Masters mirror, the Bhan/Angel team was 3rd at
2-4, and the team of Wes Matthews and Selene Koo was 1-5. All 4 teams
were very evenly matched -- all 6 of my matches went down to the last
2 or 3 questions.

My thanks to the folks on the west coast for writing an enjoyable
tournament, which is no small feat when restricted to using only
science questions. Also, my thanks to Chris Borglum for serving as TD
(with much less than an hour's notice -- in fact, was there any
notice?), and to Chris, Sean, and Taz for moderating late into the
night.

While I'm here, my thanks to Subash for another impeccable set of
questions for the Chicago Open. I agree with Eric Hilleman's
assessment that the difficulty level was appropriate for a summer
masters-level tournament.

Also, my compliments to De Jesus and friends for a solid set of SCAB
singles questions on such short notice, and to Kelly McKenzie for
winning again in undefeated fashion.
