I'll add my two cents.  As a moderator of the science mirror at U of 
Chicago, I'd like to thank the thoughtful q writers/editors who added 
VERY useful pronunciation guides to the packets.  For a non-science 
person like myself, it made it easier to relate key pieces of info. 
without stammering over a word for 20 secs:)
