MACC is the Metropolitan Academic Challenge Conference, the only extant league in Westchester County, New York; while it was founded much earlier than and separately from WACKO, it shared many characteristics with it, using Questions Unlimited material, the same game format, and most of the same teams.
MACC hosts 5 or 6 half-day tournaments per year, as well as a large final tournament. While Varsity and Junior Varsity were the traditional divisions, a Middle School division was added in 2024 to great success.
WACKO was merged into MACC in 2020 upon Les Roby's retirement. MACC very quickly became the first-ever question-writing client of the Long Island Quiz Bowl Alliance after the league head was impressed with a tournament, the Valley Cup, that the LIQBA ran in 2022; Joe Feldman approached them just before the closing ceremony and offered them a deal. QU disappeared permanently from the county in 2023, ending a near-monopoly that had lasted for over 50 years.
All active teams in Westchester play in the league, as do some teams from Western Connecticut on occasion. Teams from outside that region are permitted but are extremely rare.
