Dan Goff formerly attended University of Maryland, including playing in the infamous Illinois Open East: Alpha and Omega Bowl. Afterwards, he attended J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, where he and George Berry formed a team. He eventually transferred to Virginia Tech, where he was president of the school's team for two years.
