Records and notes

  • Six teams went 2-1 in Class 4, eliminating two teams from championship contention on statistical tiebreakers. Cape Girardeau Central lost the tiebreaker for the fourth seed as a result of a 335-245 head-to-head loss to Lee's Summit North in Round 1.
  • Koshkonong set a Class 1 record with 530 points in their round 3 game against Norborne, with Jim Driscoll answering a Class 1 record 18 tossups correctly.
  • Jim Driscoll set the Class 1 individual scoring record with 70 tossups on the day, breaking the previous record of 55 achieved by 3 individuals.
  • Richland set a Class 2 tournament record with 2285 points on the day, which remained the record until Louisiana scored 2670 points in 2018.
  • Richland set a Class 2 single game record with 550 points against Lockwood in round 1.
  • Richland's 430 points was the most scored by a team in a Class 2 championship game until Richland scored 480 in 2014.
  • Jason Mueller answered 23 tossups correctly in Lincoln's round 1 game against Valle Catholic, setting a Class 2 record.
  • Jason Mueller's 95 tossups set a Class 2 record, breaking his previous record of 93 the year before. This record stood until 2013.
  • Adam Hill's 111 tossups in the tournament was second most to date to Mike Wehrman's 133 in 1997.
  • Adam Hill set a record with 24 tossups in a championship game. The earliest known instance of this record being broken was when Max Schindler answered 26 tossups correctly in the 2013 Class 4 championship game.
