High School

Morris High School is a public high school located in Morris, Oklahoma. The Morris quizbowl team has been active in pyramidal quizbowl since 2010, and attended their first HSNCT in 2015. Under the leadership of coach Jeremy Avery, the team has recently become one of the most dominant small schools in the state, and a strong contender at most local tournaments. In 2023, they placed second in the Small School division of the NAQT Oklahoma State Championship, and in the following season they claimed their first pyramidal tournament victory at the 2023 Bulldog Fall Invitational. They have also won back-to-back titles in division 3A of the OSSAA State Championship.

2023-24 Year

Arguably the best year to date that Morris quizbowl has seen, the 2023-24 year saw the team of Morris C qualify for SSNCT, Morris A winning their first ever outright NAQT qualifier at the Bulldog Fall Invitational, and Morris winning their back-to-back OSSAA State Championship. Having qualified for both SSNCT and HSNCT at the first tournament of the year, Oklahoma Early Fall Tournament, they had SSNCT in their sights from day one. Leading up to SSNCT they also had significant in-state competition with Yukon, and Classen SAS being the only two teams in the state who were able to subdue them, each wanting to earn the title of "Best in Oklahoma". At the 2024 NAQT Oklahoma State Championship they went on an incredible run to end as runners-up to Yukon, with lead scorer Ean Merrill being selected for the Oklahoma NAQT 1st Team All-State, as well as being all tournament. Their performance at the 2024 SSNCT was the best SSNCT tournament finish for an Oklahoma team since Bridge Creek in 2019, ending in 8th place with lead scorers, Ean Merrill and Keyton Tiger-Harjo both ending in top 50 individuals overall, with Keyton being named to the 2024 NAQT SSNCT Rising Star Team.

Non-Pyramidal

Morris, as one of the premier small schools for quizbowl in all of Oklahoma, has seen significant success in non-pyramidal quizbowl. Making frequent trips to the OSSAA State Championship, and winning back-to-back OSSAA State Championship, as well as having a prestigious list of players that have made All-State. The most recent ones being Canton Pickle in 2022, Colton Criner and Kylie Force in 2023, and the latest edition: Natalie Gehring in 2024.
