Galena High School is a public high school in Galena, Illinois between Rockford & Dubuque, Iowa. It competes in Class A, the "small school" division, of the Illinois High School Association's State Championship series. The Pirates have been coached for many years by Ron Jenkins where they have represented one of the stronger small school programs in the region. Most notably the 2003-04 season where the team placed on the podium in both the IHSA & Masonic State finals.

Galena competes in the Northwest Upstate Illini Conference and has previously been a participant on Bergstrom Stateline Quiz Bowl.
