Westchester County

Westchester County, located at the southern tip of mainland New York state just north of New York City, was known for being a traditional Chip Beall stronghold, though pyramidal Quizbowl later acquired a presence before taking over entirely in 2023. Leagues and Invitationals using Questions Unlimited dominated the county for over 50 years, including the Omar Q Beckins Academic Challenge, WACKO, and MACC. Westchester teams constantly made the final four at the NAC, often won entirely, and, towards the end of the NAC, became nearly half the playoff teams.

The retirement of Les Roby resulted in MACC being the only remaining league in the county. The LIQBA started the Valley Cup in 2022, and drove QU out of the county in 2023; Les attempted to overturn this, but was sharply rebuffed, and Westchester is now a stronghold of the LIQBA.
