Take a look at the point totals and stats from
TRASHionals. The Shelby Foote Soldiers would've placed second
in any other division, but they (meaning: we)
finished 4th in the Death Blow division, and thus out of
the first division and sans chance at the belt. If
you look at the w-l records, you will also see that
the SFS beat the two of the three playoff teams from
our bracket, including the eventual champs.
My
point is that we would've liked a shot at the title.
Our performance in the middling bracket on Sunday
proves we coud've contended. I would urge all TDs in the
future to find places in the playoffs for wild cards and
upstarts. The "NASL/top-three from each div" format from
TRASH could've easily been changed to get the best 12
teams in the top bracket on Sunday. Take the top 2 in
each bracket plus the next 4 high scorers, or
something - anything that allows for correction of your
error when you were "balancing" the divisions.
And no, we did not get a prize for winning the middle
division.
Forever disgruntled,

p.s. the distribution was good, I can only complain
about questions I did not know. The organization of the
theme-rounds time leaves pantloads to be desired.
