College-level Decathlon won't work because there
is no history for it. Decathlon became popular
because politicians grasped on to the idea and
popularized it and funded it in California, even to the point
where they got corporate friends to donate money for
scholarships. It is a different game, although the advantage of
AD I have enjoyed is the ability to expand the
canon. But unless there were lots of pride and support
like the William Putnam, there is no way a college AD
would work.
