Enoch Lok Him Yuen is a British quizbowl player who was a key member of the Imperial A team from 2020 until his retirement from student quizbowl in 2024. A relaxed and sociable player who prioritised friendship and enjoyment over cut-throat competitiveness, he is the only Imperial player to feature in every one of the team's non-novice tournament wins during his time there. Before his hiatus, he finished in the top three at 21 of the 25 tournaments he entered, across both college and open events. He returned to the circuit in 2026 to play the two hardest tournaments held in the UK that year, the 4-dot UK mirrors of ICT Open and Chicago Open, and won both, leading the field in powers at the latter. He ranks in the all-time top ten for player winning percentage on the UK circuit.

He studied Biological Sciences at Imperial and Business Management at Cambridge, but his favourite category is Geography (he has visited more than 100 UN member states) and his specialist subject is World Literature. He tends to perform better on harder question sets.

College Career

Enoch was part of the iconic Imperial A team alongside Michael Mays, Justin Lee and Adam Jones. Together they won the 2023 British Student Quiz Championships, Imperial's first ever BSQC title; a recording of the final was uploaded to YouTube. That same year they also won the British mirrors of ARCADIA 2022, ACF Regionals, C++ and MRNA. Later in 2023, with new member Nilai Sarda, the team won ARCADIA 2023, completing a clean sweep of every UK college quizbowl tournament they entered and finishing with 61 wins from 63 matches across them.

Earlier in his career, Enoch helped Imperial claim its first quizbowl title at the 28-team British mirror of Southeast-Midwest Housewrite, playing with Michael Kohn, Felix Swift Roberts and Richard Brooks. He also contributed to Imperial's qualification for the 2022 ACF Nationals, though travel problems kept him from attending in person. In 2023 he again helped Imperial qualify, and played at the MIT-held competition with Michael Mays, Carlos Doebeli and Rahim Dina.

Open Career

Enoch won the British mirror of BHSU 2023 with Evan Lynch, Mark Grant and Michael Mays. He also joined Michael Kohn, Felix Swift Roberts and Ali Izzatdust to form Marvell Kinematic Universe, which placed 2nd at the UK mirror of NASAT Open in 2022 and won the event in 2024.

With his long-time Imperial A teammates Michael Mays, Justin Lee and Adam Jones, Enoch founded the team 3HK1MM, named for the Hong Kong heritage of three of its four members. The team placed 3rd at the UK mirror of Penn Bowl Open in 2022, finished 2nd in 2023, and won the tournament in 2024.

After two years away, Enoch returned in 2026 to play the two hardest tournaments on the UK calendar that year, both at 4-dot difficulty, and won both. At the UK mirror of ICT Open, he played with Evan Lynch, Daoud Jackson and Ben Russell Jones. A month later he took the first ever UK mirror of Chicago Open alongside Joseph Krol, Omer Keskin and Thomas Hart, recording the most powers in the field.
